Paddlefish season opening May 1, 2011 will go down in the history books of North Dakota paddlefishing! After the worst blizzard of the winter on Saturday April 31, opening day on Sunday turned out to be a rather nice day. Without electricity and only partially staffed, the brave employees at the Cleaning Station at the Confluence opened for business as usual! There was a total of 45 fish cleaned on Sunday. Although this is lower than previous years, it is a great start considering the weather and the unusually high water level of the river. Fish Shuttle service is available from the Pumphouse, call AJ at 701-770-5168 and from Sundheim Park, call Scott at 406-489-2663. Boat Shuttle service is also available this year, call Greg at 701-720-0447.
